This Sunday is the final week in our sermon series, Be Present. As we've walked through this Christmas season, we've looked at what it means to be present in your family, in your neighborhood, in your world and in your heart as you remained focused on the true meaning of Christmas…Christ the Lord!
As we leave this series, we will take a look this week at what it means to be present wherever you are. This is a great reminder as we start planning for 2013. Don't leave this season and loose sight of what God is doing in your life. We have great stories from the wrapping station this year of how people were simply being present and what a difference that made in the lives of those around them and in their own hearts as well. We even had someone pray right there in the middle of the Cool Springs Galleria for Christ to come into his heart and be at the center of his life. All because someone decided to wrap a gift and simply be present.
So as you plan for 2013 and start making your New Year resolution lists for working out more often, eating better, spending more time with your family, serving more, attending Church regularly, tithing Biblically, etc. add this to the top of the list…Be Present. In addition to taking time daily to read God's Word and seek His guidance for the day-to-day, make sure that you keep your head up, eyes and ears open and hands and feet ready for taking action when He places you in circumstances to do His work. Maybe that's something simple like delivering warm blankets to those in need, tutoring a child through our Path Project ministry or investing in an orphan and writing letters to let them know someone out there loves them. Maybe it will require you to step outside of your comfort zone and talk to someone in your office about Christ or go on a mission trip. Whatever the case, get in the practice of being aware that God is at work and has a purpose for your life. Keeping this top of mind will change how you do, well, just about everything.
