Seven Commitments for 2012

As we begin a New Year, what better way to start than with our commitment to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Here are seven commitments for us to make to grow spiritually in 2012. Check each commitment you are willing to make, and then live your life for His glory!

Rediscovering the True Spirit of Christmas

By Jeff Goins (Author, blogger, idea-guy and friend of Rolling Hills)

For years, I never understood Christmas. Admittedly, I was a bit of a Scrooge. It just seemed like the whole thing was a farce.

Sunday, we embarked on a journey that I pray will transform our spiritual lives and God's church. Why Pray?

This coming Sunday, September 18, we are beginning a brand new series here at Rolling Hills entitled "Why Pray?" Prayer is one of the most important, and yet most difficult, practices for us all. Have you ever thought about why pray? I mean if God is Sovereign (which He is), then why do we pray about things in our life and in our world? Yet, Jesus prayed. The Bible says,...

Remembering 9/11: A Call to Pray, Hope, Trust.

This Sunday is the 10th anniversary of 9/11. All of us remember where we were that unfathomable day for in that moment, life changed. No longer were we immune from the wars "overseas." We discovered that we are not always "safe" simply living in the most affluent nation in the world. We realized that we had an enemy who targeted even innocent people. We all became acutely aware that life could be altered in an instant. So, how do we respond as we approach this anniversary date?

Got Questions?: Living Free from Guilt

If God can forgive my sins, why can’t I forgive myself? Why do I still have guilt for sins that God forgave years ago?

This is a great question that everyone tends to struggle at some point within their lifetime. Past sins have a way of creeping up and robbing us from the joy of our relationship with God.

There are two kinds of guilt in the Bible. There is godly sorrow and then there is worldly sorrow (2 Cor. 7:10). Godly sorrow that leads a...
