The Joy of Helping Others

I just wanted to let you know how exciting it is to already see the ways God's working during this series! On Sunday, I saw friends of mine taking opportunities to buy meals for friends who were struggling financially. Even though they struggle financially themselves, with joy on their faces, they expressed they were paying it forward.  It was clear they they weren't doing this because they had to, but because they were excited to be a part of what the Lord's doing.

It also...

The Beginning of Healing

Your message on Sunday could not have come at a more opportune time in my life and the life of my family.

Friday afternoon I received some troubling news from home about a man that my widowed mother had been dating. We, the children, had our doubts about him when we met him, but we gave him the benefit of the doubt.  Our suspicions were confirmed, though, and we learned that this man was having an affair with a married woman behind my mother's back.  My brothers...

My $1 Came Back!

Wanted to tell you two stories about Pay It Forward:

1. Using my $1 to Pay It Forward this week was really easy. My pregnant daughter called me while I was still in bed and said she was wiped out on the sofa and craving Burger King bacon, egg and cheese croissants. So I got up, got dressed and went through the drive-thru (since I hadn't had my shower yet and didn't have makeup on) and made her dream come true!

2. But I really want to tell you about...

A Meal for Someone in Need

I used my dollar I got on Sunday to help provide a meal to (someone I barely know) that just had a baby! I understand those challenges of maintaining a home while adjusting to life with that 1st child. So that's how I decided to "pay it forward" and It felt really good.

Investing for the Benefit of Others

I invested the $ from the envelope to open the "RHCC Solar Fund".  It is seed money for a growing share of the Church's ownership to bring a return for the Church from energy revenues from our next project - at the Warehouse or wherever the Lord allows it to happen.  Used a 2nd $ to set up an account for JMI also.  I pray He multiplies it on behalf of His mission here and in the world to bless many - all for His glory and Jesus' name and renown.

Also, the 5 people set on...

Gift Cards for Groceries

I took the money( $5), plus all the money I saved in the last 2 weeks with grocery store coupons, gas discounts, prescription transfers, 2 for 1 meals, etc.  and I went to HG Hill grocery store in Franklin off Columbia.  After speaking with Linda the Asst. Manager, HG Hill no longer had ‘charge accounts’ for the elderly.  I was hoping to pay down an elderly person’s charge acct/bill with the money.  So instead I purchased 4 $25 gift cards.  Linda...

Mom to Mom Scholarship

As I was praying about how God would have me use the $5 I received for Pay It Forward, all I could think about was the moms I have talked to lately who would struggle greatly to pay registration and childcare for Mom to Mom. I felt God leading me to give the money toward a scholarship. I then emailed the other Titus 2 Leaders about putting their PIF money with mine if God had not shown them another place to invest it. Five leaders plus some of their husbands and friends also wanted to...

2 Talents = 2 Children

I just wanted to let you know how I've used the two talents I received.  The sermon that Sunday contained answers to many prayers and that afternoon I began this email to you, but I never got back to finishing it until today.  I now know that's because God wasn't done with the story.

In order to put things in context, let me give you some background information.  Back in 2006, when I had a full-time well-paying job, I began sponsoring my first...
