Flood Relief: Week 2 Preview

Over the past week most of us have watched in dismay as our
community and the surrounding areas have been devastated by flooding. We often
see these images and hear such difficult stories and want to do something to
make a difference. Thank you Rolling Hills for the ways you have stepped up,
given of your time and supported those here in our own neighborhoods. We are
thankful for the ways you have served and the ways you have simply made
yourselves available.
Mark Ahlberg, who has been critically involved in Rolling Hills flood relief
and other mission experiences with our church said it well when he commented,
“If I can fly half-way around the world to help a stranger, then I can
certainly drive down the street to do the same.” Because so many within Middle
TN and our church have adopted a similar attitude, we have been blessed and
humbled to spend significant time gutting and working in 29 different homes, 1
church and 1 small business among 8 different neighborhoods here in Franklin.
Yet, there is still much to do.
“God has positioned us as a church in this community and we are His plan to
help those who are hurting all over the world and next door”, commented Lesli
Crawford, Rolling Hills partner and disaster relief worker. As a result,
our goal as a church is to continue serving and meeting whatever needs we can
for those who are hurting.
Thank you church for all that you have done, and will continue to do. Through
Thursday of this week, we will still assemble teams at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
here at The WareHouse and can use those wanting to do disaster relief as well
as those who cannot do manual labor. The amount of donations we have received
has been very encouraging and volunteers are still needed to sort these
donations for easy distribution.
Keep checking our website and blog for updated needs and continue to pray for
those families and individuals who are hurting so badly at this time.
