At Rolling Hills, we are on an amazing journey through the Old Testament book of Isaiah.  This powerful book of the Bible reveals incredible insight into the character and heart of our God.  We see God’s heart of love, discipline as well as judgment; and through it all we see over and over “Hope Rising.”  Understanding the historical time periods of the book is essential to unlocking its deeper discoveries.  This Sunday Morning, June 27, we come to Isaiah 28-39.  This section of the book serves as the bridge between the historical period of the Assyrians (mainly chapters 1-39) and the historical period of the Babylonians (chapters 40-66).  This week we see that the people of God (and especially their King Hezekiah) are in trouble.  In our life, we all face times of trouble.  The key is how we respond.  As we walk through Isaiah 36-39, we see Hezekiah’s response and God’s deliverance.  This is such an important series for all of us in our spiritual journey.  Isaiah is one of the most important books of the Bible and a greater knowledge of His Word leads to a deeper walk in our lives.  I encourage you to read through the book of Isaiah this summer and to make Sunday Mornings (or the podcast if you are travelling) a priority.  I know God has a word for you just as He had a word for His people back then.  Let’s continue to dig deep as we become the men and women God created and desires!  Godspeed in our journey!
