Living with Joy
Joy is a mark of spiritual growth in one’s journey. Jesus wants us to have a great life, and have it “to the full!” Also, the Bible tells us in 1 Peter 1:8-9, “…and you are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” God wants you to experience joy in this life. This does not mean that we will have everything we want in this life or that our life is going to be perfect – we live in a fallen world – but it does mean that God is always going to be with us working all things together for good. How do we live lives of joy? As A. W. Tozer writes in The Pursuit of God, we develop “the inward habit of beholding God.” See God at work in your life and live your life for Him.
For more on this topic of joy, listen to our podcast from Sunday, November 1. Also, you don’t want to miss this coming Sunday, November 8, as we explore this topic of change in our world and in our lives. Also, it is World Orphans Sunday. It is going to be a great day, and I can’t wait to worship our God together with you here at Rolling Hills!
