As Jesus’ disciples watched Jesus pray, they realized there was something powerful and amazing there they had yet to experience – “Lord, teach us to pray,” they exclaimed.  Prayer is the life-line of a Christian - it is our heart-beat; the very breath of our spiritual life.  Yet, when we are honest, we all struggle with prayer – time to pray, what to pray, and even, as Jesus’ first followers, how to pray.

This coming Sunday morning at Rolling Hills, we are going to explore this subject of prayer as we complete our series "DNA: At the Core." Prayer is one of the core values Rolling Hills is founded on and is the basis for everything we do as a church.

I believe God will teach us this week in a way that will deeply impact our spiritual lives.  I encourage you to make this Sunday a priority, and to bring a friend.  As James tells us, prayers are “powerful and effective.”  Many times we do not understand the power we have available to us – power to heal, power to change, power to redeem and power to restore.  You see, prayer changes things; but even more, prayer changes us!  Also, this Sunday, we will be preparing our hearts for the time of Thanksgiving.  We all have so much for which to be thankful. I pray Sunday is a time to focus our hearts on what our God has done for us and remind us of what all He still wants to do!
