This week the staff and I traveled to a secluded town in Alabama for three days of prayer, reflection and planning for 2011. I walked away refreshed and reassured of three things that give me joy and hope for the future. 

1. God has His hand on His church here at Rolling Hills. 

As we looked back at this past year, we pressed pause for a moment to reflect on the amazing miracles God has done in our midst and to thank Him for continuing to stretch us and lead us in ways we could never imagine. The fact that we’re even IN the WareHouse is a huge miracle in itself!

2. We are a people of God – and we are growing together in His love.

As each of our staff members prayed about the opportunities they see in their own specific ministry area, it became clear that we are growing in numbers, but we are also growing deeper in our relationships with God and others like never before! This is truly an amazing time to be part of what God’s doing here and I’m blessed to be surrounded by so many who love people well.

3. We have not arrived.

Our mission as a church is to, “... reach people for Christ and nurturing them in the faith through inspired worship, genuine community and passionate ministry that transforms lives in our neighborhoods and throughout the world.” How excited it was to end our retreat with the realization that God has even bigger and more amazing plans for us than we could ever imagine in a three day retreat! Praise God for what He has done and what He will continue to do as we give our lives to Him!

This week we will continue in our series, Pay it Forward, as we examine what it looks like to give of our service. Join us Sunday at 9:30 or 11am as we discover God’s truth for how to serve God and others well.
