What a week this has been! We have been overwhelmed with the support, manpower, donations and time so many of you have given to the flood relief efforts here in Franklin. Since Monday, Rolling Hills has had over 100 volunteers working in 5 different neighborhoods on over 20 homes. So many of you have shown up to help and have already made a huge difference. Yet, in some ways our work is just beginning as we partner with families and individuals throughout Middle Tennessee who have been devastated by the impact of this flooding. Many of you have not had a chance to volunteer because of work schedules, but we are asking you to join us this Saturday.

Attached is a brief form for you to provide as much information as possible so we can best mobilize you on Saturday. If at all possible, send this form back to us by noon on Friday, May 7. By way of supplies and dress, be sure to wear closed toe shoes, bring a pair of work gloves and some clothes you don't mind to get dirty. On the form, you will see some additional items you may be able to provide. You can also check our supply list for up-to-date supply needs and information.

Our first teams need to meet at the WareHouse on Columbia Ave. at 8:00 am on Saturday, and we will organize you from there. The second time you can meet is at 1:00 pm. We would love for you to join us for one or both of those times.

Parents, many of the areas we are working in have experienced significant damage and are not safe for children.  Please consider swapping childcare with friends or alternating within your own home who comes at the designated team times. In the coming weeks, opportunities to serve together as families will arise; however, this weekend is not that time. Also, we are unable to provide childcare for this work day as this would require too many volunteers that we sincerely need to be out in the community.

If you are a Davidson County resident and wanting to volunteer, we would encourage you to work with Samaritan's Purse. They have asked us for volunteers to work in hard hit areas of Nashville, and you will need to contact them directly. See below from Samaritan's Purse:

We ask that all day volunteers interested in volunteering Monday-Saturday arrive at our site by 7:30am. Our site is located at Bethel World Outreach Center at 5670 Granny White Pike, Brentwood, TN 37027. When you arrive, please look for the Samaritan's Purse Disaster Relief Truck and the "Volunteer Check-In" Sign. If you are interested in volunteering on Sunday, please contact our site at 615-346-1310 as volunteer hours will differ.

Thanks again for all you have done and will continue to do as we seek to serve those who are hurting at this time.
